New San Francisco 49ers pass rusher
Nick Bosa is looking forward to frustrating opposing offensive lines in the NFL. The No. 2 overall pick joins a defensive front that already includes DeForest Buckner, Solomon Thomas, and Arik Armstead, all of whom were past first-round picks.
The 49ers also traded for Dee Ford, who along with Bosa, will create a formidable duo of bookends and strengthen one of the defense's most glaring weaknesses in recent years — the pass rush.
Bosa may be the new guy in Santa Clara, but he already knows some of the names mentioned above. What does he know about those new teammates?
"I know that they can play,"
Bosa told 49ers team reporter Keiana Martin on Thursday in Nashville. "I've watched them. I think opposing O-lines should be pretty scared."
49ers fans are probably excited to see what the defense can do with its improved defensive front. What can the Niner Faithful expect from Bosa?
"Somebody who's itching to get on the field," Bosa answered. "Someone who's just going to lay everything out on the line. That's all I know how to do. I'm going to go from whistle to whistle, and hopefully, get some Ws this year."
Including Ford and Bosa, the 49ers will feature a defensive front made up of five first-round picks.
"It's going to be a high expectation for the group,"
Bosa told Bay Area reporters on a conference call after being drafted, "but I'm just excited to get to work with them, and learn from them, and show them what I know, and just get after it as a team. I'm glad to be on a team finally."
Bosa visited with the 49ers on April 11. He shared with NBC Sports Bay Area on Thursday the impression he got from team decision-makers like head coach Kyle Shanahan, general manager John Lynch, defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, and others during that visit.
"I think it's hard not to hit it off with them," Bosa told Matt Maiocco. "They're such good dudes. Just easy to relate to. They seem like they have a really good plan in place, and I'm just excited to be a part of it."

NFL Communications has officially announced the "NFL legends and active players" who will announce selections during Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Representing the San Francisco 49ers will be former defensive tackle Anthony "Spice" Adams, who spent four seasons with the team and nine in the NFL.
San Francisco selected Adams out of Penn State in the second round (No. 57 overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft.

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.

The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday.
Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks.
