San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle was not expected to play tonight against the Seattle Seahawks. He missed practice over the past week as he deals with knee and ankle injuries suffered during the 49ers' Week 9 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

The 49ers made it official — Kittle will not play tonight. The tight end's name was among the list of seven inactive players for San Francisco during the team's game against the Seahawks at Levi's Stadium.

Also inactive is kicker Robbie Gould, who suffered a quad strain last week. The 49ers signed rookie kicker Chase McLaughlin for tonight's game.

The two teams kick off at 5:15 p.m. PT.

Not on the list were several players returning from injuries. They are tackles Joe Staley (fibula) and Mike McGlinchey (knee), and fullback Kyle Juszczyk (knee).

Also active is wide receiver Marquise Goodwin who missed the past two games due to a personal issue. There are no wide receivers on the inactive list, which means San Francisco has all six of its wideouts available.

Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon (foot, quadricep), who some thought might be active against the Seahawks, is inactive.

Below are the 49ers players who are inactive for tonight's game.

  • TE George Kittle
  • CB Ahkello Witherspoon
  • K Robbie Gould
  • RB Jeff Wilson
  • QB C.J. Beathard
  • OL Justin Skule
  • DL Jullian Taylor

Below are the Seahawks players who are inactive.

  • WR Jaron Brown
  • S Lano Hill
  • DE L.J. Collier
  • G Phil Haynes
  • WR John Ursua
  • RB C.J. Prosise
  • CB Akeem King
